Welcome to the WISE Foundation!

Welcome to the Worcester Institute Supporting Exchange (WISE) website. WISE is a small foundation whose mission is to provide support for students and early career professionals in medicine and in the arts. Though the foundation’s financial resources are limited, we endeavor to accomplish tasks which are almost entirely overlooked or neglected by larger foundations. As a small foundation, we can be flexible in our efforts and minimize “red tape” with our grantees.

Our website provides information regarding our specific programs as well as relevant historical background information. Support is provided through the foundation’s outreach programs associated with various universities and conservatories. Students and early career professionals may obtain support only under the egis of one of these outreach programs. In other words, we cannot respond with support to unsolicited applications which are not coordinated in this way.

We invite visitors of this website to select the areas of interest to them.

The WISE Foundation is currently looking for new employees to assist in operations in Washington, DC. If you are interested, please contact Theworcesterfoundation@gmail.com to learn about our opportunities!

Excellent opportunities exist for WISE students to engage in research in the Boston/Worcester area as a step in career development. This guide presents steps in the process of obtaining such positions. The effort requested in this guide constitutes a practicum in “steppingstone logic” (the philosophy of pragmatism), which leads to being a better doctor and a competent, satisfied individual.
